Heritage film festival

The Inner Arbor Trust and APA Film present the Heritage Film Festival, 3 nights of contemporary foreign language films (with English subtitles) presented at the Chrysalis in Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods.  Thanks to hosting partners Indian Origin Network of Howard County, Inc., Korean Society of Maryland, and Howard County Chinese Culture Center for their support.  This event is free and open to the public, however please get a free ticket via Eventbrite to receive a parking assignment.

3 Idiots (2009).  Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.  Starring Amir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Omi Vaidya.  Based on the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat.  The story of three friends, their college days, and their quest to find themselves and each other ten years later.

Miss Granny (2014).  Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk.  Produced by Jeon Jae-sun, Park Ji-seong, Lee Jae-pil, and Im Ji-young.  Starring Na Moon-hee and Shim Eun-kyung.  A 74-year old widow, living with her son and his family, depressed about being sent to a nursing home, finds a mysterious photo studio that turns her into her 20 year old self.  

When Ruoma Was Seventeen (2002).  Directed by Jiarui Zhang.  Starring Shu Liyuan, Li Min, and Zhigang Yang.  The coming of age story of a Hani girl in Yunnan province.  Ruoma is Hani, living a live eschewing the modern world.  She travels to the city every day to sell corn, and learns more of the world beyond her village.
