Columbia Big Band

Founded in 2015, the Columbia Big Band was formed to provide an outlet for community members to play in a jazz ensemble. Though some members play and teach music professionally, they are volunteers employed in a wide variety of professions, who share a love of music and a desire to play the many styles performed by jazz ensembles, from jazz/swing, to rock, to Latin. The Columbia Big Band hopes to bring the enjoyment of big band music to a wide audience!

Columbia Jazz Band

The Columbia Jazz Band has been entertaining audiences for over 40 years and performs a diverse mix of big band jazz at concerts throughout the greater Washington D.C. area.

Maryland Community Band

The Maryland Community Band was formed as a special outreach project of the University of Maryland Band Program in the School of Music, with membership drawn from university alumni, school music teachers, campus faculty/staff, and beyond.

The Maryland Community Band performs a variety of music ranging from the classical symphonic repertory to military marches and Broadway and film scores.

Old Line Brass Quintet

The 229th Army Band's Old Line Brass Ensemble is a dynamic group that performs in styles ranging from ceremonial and patriotic to contemporary chamber music and jazz. Whether playing as a quintet or a full 10-piece brass band with percussion, Old Line consistently showcases their musical versatility by performing across the state of Maryland at military functions and public events.
